5×5 M.E.T. US Cup Qualifier 2023

March – June 2023 Globally Launched

1. Requirements:

G&G Dealers hosting a qualifier must:

1. have a working 5×5 MET or ETT Target System
2. have at minimum 5ft x 30ft space available on day of qualifier
3. choose a single date to host qualifier event
4. provide staff to run qualifier (1 Required, 2 Recommended)
5. have recording device (to record times for final evaluation)

Competitors must:

1. be 18 years or older to participate
2. be able to compete on the scheduled date of qualifier
3. register in Teams of 2, but can be paired up on the day of competition.
4. have a valid passport and no travel restrictions if chosen to compete in G&G World Cup

2. Equipment:

1. Competitors are required to use the G&G replica provided by the organizer with following model specifications:

A. Rifle: ARP 556 2.0 (EGC-556-V02-BNB-NCM)

1. Velocity: Max velocity of 350fps w/ 0.25g BB (1.43 J)
2. Magazine: 1 MidCap (120 rounds)
3. Rifle must be Stock with no internal modification (upgrades) or external performance assistance (lasers, optics)

2. Ammunition

A. Only G&G 0.25g BBs are allowed in this competition (See previous for FPS limits)

3. Target System & Range Setup

1. Competition requires the use of a 5×5 MET or ETT Target System with Timer.

A. Due to the nature of competition, no 3×3 or Search & Destroy systems may be modified to replicate a 5×5 Target System.
B. Dealers will be contacted prior to qualifiers to confirm working order of Target System.

2. The precision target crowns will be used to simulate smaller targets. Positions of the Crowns are described and shown below:

i. TWO 8cm Crowns [G-11-103-1] will be used on the top corner targets
ii. THREE 4cm Crowns [G-11-102] will be used on the center and bottom corner targets

3. A tripod or stand will be placed in front of the competitor to provide a dividing line. This will be explained further in the “Official Stage Operations” section.
4. Shooting distance must be 25ft. This will be measured from the frontmost point of the targets to the Shooting Barricade
5. Proper ASNI-rated eye protection must be provided by the event organizer.

4. Regional Qualifier Operations

1. Registration fee will be regulated by individual dealers
2. Dealers may hold as many practice sessions leading up to the qualifiers as they desire, but only times recorded on the day of the competition may be submitted.
3. Event organizers must provide the competitors’ registry and results table.
4. Event organizers are required to provide clear photo/video recording showing the following: unobstructed shooting line to the 5×5 Target System, players’ magazines, and the timer. (G&G only accept scores from dealer’s chosen official qualification day, scores from practice or incomplete photo/video recordings will not be accepted in the official use for records)
5. At the end of competition day, event organizers will submit the two fastest times to 101TechUSA and G&G for evaluation. The 2 overall fastest times amongst all the US Qualifiers will be contacted after all regional submissions have been confirmed.

5. Official Stage Operations

1. Target System will be set to Mode 5 (random mode)
2. Range officer will hit start button to begin session (ensure recording device is active for official time to be validated)
3. Competitors’ time will continue until all 25 targets are hit and time has stopped.
4. NEW RULE: At any point of the session, the shooter MUST hit at least 5 targets off-shoulder and from the OTHER SIDE of the tripod/stand.

a. Example: If the competitor is primarily a right-handed shooter, they will begin firing at the targets from their right shoulder while on the right side of the tripod/stand. At some point they must swap to their LEFT shoulder and move to the left side of the tripod/stand and hit a minimum of 5 targets.
b. Shooters can choose when they would like to swap shoulders and can choose to swap back after the 5 targets have been hit.
c. Penalty for failing to hit targets off shoulder will result in 15 seconds per target added to their final time.

5. Each competitor is allotted 90 seconds maximum to complete the stage (before penalties). Extending beyond this time will result in a stoppage by the range officer and listing time of “DNF”

6. Disqualification Conditions

Competitors will be withdrawn from the competition if found violating any of the following regulations:

1. Violation of any of the Four Safety Rules followed by standard weapons operations:

i. “Always assume that the weapon in your hand is loaded”
ii. “Don’t point the muzzle at something you do not want to destroy”
iii. “Don’t put your finger(s) in the trigger guard unless you are ready to shoot”
iv. “Be aware of the target and surroundings before shooting”

2. Interruption of the competition to the means of benefitting or hindering any particular (or general) competitors.
3. Removing eye protection when on the range or within striking distance of BBs
4. Proper ASNI-rate eye protection must be worn by the anyone within designated zones or when near any section that may be within range of ricochets
5. Unsportsmanlike behavior. Examples include, but are not limited to: cheating, being dishonest, disobeying reasonable instructions from tournament officials, or doing anything to tarnish the tournament or associated brands.
6. Falsely claiming replica and/or magazine malfunction in order to receive a rematch or gain benefits.
7. Full automatic and 3-round burst mode are prohibited and will result in disqualification.
8. Any other behavior unbecoming of a competitor that is to represent their country in an overseas competition

NOTE: For Competitors who are ruled to be withdrawn from the competition, the registration fees will not be refunded. It is up to the ruling of the Range Officer to determine if the actions were done in a deliberate manner and will result in disqualification.

Final Results Terms & Conditions

1) At the end of the regional qualifier, the teams of two with the fastest time must provide valid government identification. Any false or expired identification will be disqualified and the prize forfeited. If this were to occur, competitors with the next fastest times will be approached with the aforementioned information.
*Only the two (2) fastest times from the US amongst all regional qualifiers will compete in the G&G World Cup and be flown to Taiwan.

2) Each competitor will need to apply for a passport and/or a visa at their own expense. Each competitor must confirm all travel documents to be valid within the period of time for competition in Taiwan October 2023. Please provide all travel documents to G&G Armament before September 1, 2023.

3) If a competitor fails to provide the necessary travel documents to attend the 2023 World Cup Shooting Competition in Taiwan by September 2023, the individual will forfeit their slot and a runner-up competitor will be selected.

4) G&G Armament will be responsible for the winner’s round-trip airline ticket, hotel accommodation, 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch), and airport-to-hotel shuttle service in Taiwan.

5) The competitor will be responsible for their own transportation from their residence to the airport and within Taipei. G&G will not reimburse the competitor if they choose to take a taxi, ride-share services, train or bus.
